Small Wall® Paint Sample Boards: No More Beetlejuice!
This last weekend, I passed by a bar in Seattle's Capitol Hill district and decided to stop and look inside. My companion asked the patron standing outside what kind of decor we might expect. He said, "Beetlejuice!"
And with one glance inside, we knew what he meant: The walls were gaudily striped.
Oddly enough, "stripes" describes the back of my house, pictured here. Trying out paint samples, I was forced to apply paint to my house.
That's all well and good, but what about if you want to try out the other three sides of your house? Paint those, too? What about those stripes? Keep them? Prime over them? And what if you're unlucky enough to be dealing with unprimed drywall? That needs to first be primed before applying a paint sample.
Then I ran across a product whose slogan is "Only Zebras should Have Stripes--Not Your Walls." I was immediately hooked.
Small Wall® Paint Sample Boards are closed-cell, non-porous boards that are specially designed for receiving paint samples. Paint samples (and real paint, too) stick well to the surface of Small Wall. Cardboard, foamboard, and other materials simply don't work as well as Small Wall. They either curl or crumble or smear. Small Wall is made exactly for this one purpose and nothing else.
Because Small Wall boards have adhesive backing, you can stick and re-stick the boards to different surfaces many times--up to about 12 times.
Small Wall Paint Sample Boards appear to be aimed more at professionals like designers and house painters.
But there's no reason you can't find them at your local Sherwin-Williams or Ace Hardware, or on Amazon.
