2002 Mazda MPV Features
- The 2002 Mazda MPV is a compact minivan available in either a basic LX or upgraded ES version. Both versions carry a 3.0-liter V6 engine churning out 200 horsepower and a frame based on a Ford design. Due to low sales and the 2006 release of the Mazda5, Mazda discontinued the van in North America.
- The 2002 Mazda MPV is equipped with an automatic transmission and an engine that creates 200 horsepower, versus the 170 produced by previous models.
- Standard features on both LX and ES MPV models include a CD player with AM/FM stereo, keyless entry, tilt steering wheel, front air conditioning and power locks. The minivan also features double sliding doors with functioning windows, features that are both standard and unique to this van for 2002. Optional upgrades include power driver and passenger mirrors, steering-wheel-mounted audio controls and rear air conditioning. The LX is equipped with 15-inch alloy wheels and an optional 16-inch wheel package. The ES comes standard with 17-inch alloy wheels.
- The 2002 MPV minivan carries seven passengers, with second-row bucket seats that slide together to form a two-passenger bench. Also, the third-row bench can fold into the floor, creating extra rear cargo space.
