Labor Day is the last three-day weekend of summer, the final hurrah before another school year or a more hectic work schedule begins again. If you are near southern Georgia, the region offers many great options for fun and relaxation. - Catfish---Southern-fried and Cajun-style---is the star of this annual, three-day food festival in southeast Georgia. Visitors also enjoy country music, craft booths, antiques, collectibles, a 5k run, a children's amusement area and more. It is southern Georgia's largest festival and takes place in downtown Kingsland, just north of the Georgia-Florida border.

wildadventures.com - In 1924, eight years before he was elected president, Franklin Delano Roosevelt (FDR) began visiting Warm Springs for relief from polio. He built the Little White House there in 1932, just before he took office. The Little White House is now a state historic site and its therapeutic pools are kept empty---except during Labor Day weekend, when they are filled with naturally warm spring water and the public is invited to "dip into the past." The Little White House includes exhibits such as FDR's 1938 Ford convertible, outfitted with hand controls so he could drive it. As you stroll around the museum, tapes of FDR's famed "Fireside Chat" radio broadcasts play on a 1930s radio. The site is open every day except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day.
