COD2 Map Making Tutorial
- 1). Install Call of Duty Radiant.
- 2). Double-click the Call of Duty Radiant icon on your desktop. Upon opening the software, a camera preference box should pop up. Tune the settings to your preference, including adjusting the view distance, which changes from how far away you see the map, and changing the texture, which alters the way you perceive the figures on the maps.
- 3). Left-click "Create New" to begin making a map. A box will pop up asking you where to save the new map. Choose a folder to save the map in and click "Save."
- 4). Use the toolbar at the top of the screen to begin making the environment and buildings. Save your map periodically, so if you make a mistake you are able to fix it.
- 5). Decorate the ceilings of the map. Left-click on the main menu, then select "Texture," "Usage," then "Ceiling." To apply the texture, press "Ctrl" + "Shift," then left-click the ceiling.
- 6). Change the floor texture. Left-click on the main menu and select "Texture," "Usage," then "Floor." Apply the texture by left-clicking the texture onto the floor.
- 7). Add a light to the room by left-clicking on "Light."
- 8). Create a starting point. Left-click on "Info" in the entity placement window, then left-click on "Player_start" in the sub-menu.
