How to Tie Square Scarves

    Small square scarf

    • 1). Fold the scarf in half so opposite corners touch (i.e., the top left and bottom right corner). This will provide you with a triangle.

    • 2). Drape the triangle around your neck, with the touching points resting on your chest and the loose ends behind your head. Tie the loose ends in a tight, basic knot at the back of your neck; you can tuck the knot into your shirt if you don't want it to be seen.

    • 3). Flatten the front of the scarf so it is less puffy.

    Longer square scarf

    • 1). Fold the square scarf in half, creating a triangle.

    • 2). Drape the scarf around your neck so the triangle points are behind your head and the loose ends hang down in front.

    • 3). Tie a loose knot in the ends at the front, so it hangs down in front of your shirt.

    Square scarf for the head

    • 1). Fold the square scarf in half, as detailed above.

    • 2). Wrap the scarf around your forehead, so that the point of the triangle drapes over the center back of your head, and the loose ends wrap over your temples toward the back.

    • 3). Tie the loose ends of the scarf in a basic knot tight at the back of your head or the base of your neck, over the point of the triangle. This will keep things firmly in place.
