How to Change Batteries on a LiftMaster Security Remote

    • 1). Pry open the remote control case by sticking a screwdriver in the groove on the side of the remote and pushing the handle up. You may need to pry the case in different areas of the remote control to loosen it enough to open.

    • 2). Pull the exhausted battery out of the casing and dispose of it properly. Some states have laws about how you can and can't dispose of batters. Check with local waste authorities for rules.

    • 3). Insert the replacement battery in the battery compartment. The positive side of the battery should face up.

    • 4). Line up the top of the remote control casing with the bottom and press them together until they snap in place.

    • 5). Test the remote control to ensure the battery was placed in the remote control correctly.
