  Oriole is in Indiana's Perry County, in the southwest of the state. The town lies within the 60,000-acre Hoosier National Park, which offers opportunities for camping, hiking, fishing, biking and horseback riding. Although there are no hotels in Oriole, there are several accommodation options in the surrounding communities, all within a 30-minute drive.

• The Leavenworth Inn is in the town of Leavenworth, eight miles east of Oriole. The hotel is situated on a bluff overlooking the Ohio River, a popular site for fishing. Kintner House Inn

• Located in the town of Corydon, Kintner House Inn is almost 20 miles east of Oriole. The inn, which dates from around 1830 and is listed on the National Register of Historical Places, offers 15 guest rooms. All rooms feature cable television, central air conditioning and antique furnishings. Eight rooms also feature VCRs, and five rooms have their own fireplaces. Kintner House offers guests a complimentary breakfast each morning, as well as complimentary tea, coffee and homemade cookies throughout the day. While there is no restaurant on the property, there are several within walking distance, including Magdalena's, which serves a varied menu including steak, seafood and pasta.
