How to Repair a PlayStation 3 With No Video Output

Verify the connections are made correctly between the PS3 and the television. One end of the video cable needs to go into the video output of the PS3. The other end of the video cable needs to go to the video input on the television.

Unplug the PS3 from a VCR or DVD player if it is connected to one, and plug the unit directly into the television. The signal may be degraded it is going through another device.

Use a new video cable to see if the original cable is bad.

Press the “input” button on the television remote to find the video signal for the PS3. Some televisions may have multiple video inputs and the wrong one may be selected.

Hold the power button down on the PS3 until you hear two beeps. This will reset the unit to the default video setting.

Connect the PS3 to another television and go into the menu and make sure that the resolution is set to the minimum 480p for a standard television.

Reconnect the PS3 to the original television to see if there is a signal.
