How to Repair & Refinish Viking Stove Grills
- 1). Replace any missing nuts or bolts.
- 2). Scrub the Viking stove grill with a trisodium phosphate cleanser and using a coarse sponge. Rinse the grill with a water hose. Wait two to three hours for the grill to dry.
- 3). Mix the epoxy metal repair compound resin with the catalyst in a plastic drywall pan. Stir the components for five minutes, using a plastic stir stick.
- 4). Apply the epoxy to scratches and holes, using the plastic putty knife. Use the putty knife to conform the epoxy to the rest of the grill. Wait four hours for the epoxy compound to dry.
- 5). Protect areas of the grill you do not want refinished with masking paper and painter's tape.
- 6). Coat the clean Viking grill with galvanized metal etching spray primer. Hold the can 8 inches from the grill as you apply. Wait four hours for the primed grill to cure.
- 7). Coat the primed grill with a high temperature spray enamel. Hold the can 8 inches from the grill as you apply. Wait eight hours before using the Viking grill.
