- 1). Contact the investigating agency if you were investigated for child abuse but not convicted. The agency has a statutory duty to expunge the information and any corresponding data from its records. If the agency refuses to act, it must provide a written explanation to a judge in the appropriate jurisdiction as to why the information should not be removed.
