In recent years, obesity has become a serious health problem particularly among developed countries in the west.
Even after all the campaigns about healthy eating and working out regularly, the number of obesity cases are still on the rise.
The problem with obesity is that it increases the risk of acquiring other more serious illnesses such as diabetes, heart disease, arthritis and hypertension.
Even some types of cancers are said to be affected by obesity.
Why, after all that has been said and done about weight loss, are so many people still overweight if not downright obese? The answer may be found with the one place that many people spend most of their time in, the workplace.
How to lose weight when many jobs are sedentary? This is particularly true with office jobs where workers sit in front of a computer most of the time, leaving their cubicles only for lunch and for the occasional toilet and coffee breaks.
As a general rule, if you sit almost motionless most of the time, you will definitely gain weight.
Sitting in an office chair for eight hours or more is no better than being a couch potato at home.
It is probably worse because at least as a couch potato you get to watch TV.
Moreover, offices are were you usually find the most unhealthy of food choices such as donuts, chips, cookies and sugary cola drinks.
It is very rare that you will find vegetables and fruits in an office pantry.
If you're work requires you to sit in front of a computer for long periods of time then at least do some occasional stretching and try to stand once in a while and walk around your office.
How to lose weight when many jobs are sedentary? Well all you need is just a little creativity and you will be able to find ways to lose weight even in the workplace.
