How Many Thrushes Can You Name? Get the A-Z List!
Thrushes are attractive passerines found throughout the world with the greatest diversity found in Europe and Asia. All members of the Turdidae family, these birds are popular and welcome in the backyard because of their generally insectivorous diets, beautiful plumage and melodious voices. Often staying in the same range year-round and shifting their diets to include more fruit, berries and seeds when insects are scarce, thrushes are easily attracted to ground bird baths and will appreciate leaf litter left in place for foraging.
