Do it Yourself Eviction Notice

    • 1). Open your word processing software and create a new document. Title the document "3 Day Notice to Quit." The amount of time that you give your tenant to vacate the premises depends on your local legislation and you will need to adjust this number accordingly.

    • 2). Detail the lease information in the first section. List the address of the rental property, the date of the lease, the landlord's name and address and the names of all tenants.

    • 3). List the reason for the eviction notice, such as failure to pay rent, substantial damages to the premises, violence, or other causes. Describe in detail why the notice is being served. For example, if there were damages, describe the damages and the cost required to fix them. List how many days' notice the tenant is entitled to and the date by which the tenant must leave the premises.

    • 4). Leave a section at the bottom for signatures from the landlord, the date on which the document was signed, and a line for a witness signature.
