CA Guitars Model 5S-CE Review
Formerly known as the Players Series X, CA Guitars 5S-CE displays the wonders of carbon fiber guitar technology.
Most noticeably, the guitar has an amazing cutaway.
In addition to the sharp cutaway that allows easy access to the upper frets, there is also a cutaway on the back of the guitar that allows your palm to fit nicely along the back of the guitar's sound box.
This is possible because of the strength of carbon fiber, which allows for a strong neck that does not require a heel block, another benefit of carbon fiber construction.
Thus, when reaching the upper frets, your hand fits perfectly into CA Guitars dual cutaway, allowing for easy access all the way up to the 20th fret.
This high on the fretboard, you can easily achieve a"clink" tone on the treble strings that sounds very similar to the highest notes on a piano, or you can gain a tone similar to that of a plucked cello on the mid and bass strings.
These tones contrast nicely with the guitar's tone played along the rest of the fretboard.
The bass reminds me of a nylon string guitar, with mids and trebles that are warm , clean and loud, projecting the unique carbon fiber tone.
