This can be one of the most difficult yet fun activities you do with your baby. The end result will be great photo's to last a life time.

Depending on the season of the year, you may want to have ample heating or cooling to regulate the room temperature so that your baby is as comfortable as possible. A happy baby always leads to more smiles.

Another thing you should do before the shoot is to plan the photo shoot at a time after your baby wakes from their nap. This usually is the best time as they can put up with a whole photo shoot.

Remember to keep your shoots short and sweet. An hour will definitely be more than enough to grab lots of great photos.

Toys are a baby's best friend. Have lots of your baby's favourite toys to keep their minds busy. This would also be a good time to bring in new toys as your little one will find them even more interesting.

Always be close to your baby. This helps them feel secure when other people are round and there is lighting everywhere.

Soothing music usually is the key to keeping you baby calm towards the end of the shoot and will also help them feel a bit more secure. Here are some great mother and baby music selections that may help. You may also visit your local music store for music CD's.
