In 1948, the names "F-250" and "F-350" had not yet come to being. The "F Series" Consisted of the F1, or "half ton," F2, or "three quarter ton" and F3, which Ford called "the heavy duty." These monikers referred to the total amount of weight the trucks could carry, and this key difference remains the same in 2011.
