How to Install Luverne Nerf Bars

    • 1). Open your nerf bar box and take out the hardware, checking to make sure you have all the parts.

    • 2). Sweep around and under your truck to make sure the work area is clear.

    • 3). Take a front bracket, a J-bolt, two bolts, two lock washers and two flat washers and slide under the front of your truck. If your bracket is marked with an "L," start on the left side, and if it's marked with an "R," start on the right side.

    • 4). Look under the front driver's-side door of your truck, but above the wheel, to find the lowest hole. This hole will fit your J-Bolt, and is pre-installed in most trucks to accommodate nerf bars. Place your front bracket over the hole and loosely bolt it in place.

    • 5). Take a rear bracket for the same side, two bolts, two nuts, four flat washers and two lock washers. Loosely bolt the rear bracket to the inside of the truck in the hole over the rear tire, so that it lines up with the front bracket.

    • 6). Take the nerf bar that goes on the side where you just installed the brackets.

    • 7). Attach each end of the nerf bar to its matching bracket, using a bolt, a lock washer and a flat washer. Screw the bolt in just far enough to hold the nerf bar in place.

    • 8). After you're done fastening both ends, continue tightening the bolts until they are snug.

    • 9). Tightly fasten the front and rear brackets you installed earlier until they are snug.

Repeat all the above steps for the opposite side of the truck.
