In order to do this job properly, yo have to know a few things about the conditions and the characteristics of the environment you work in and you need to solve two problems.
The first one would be ensuring the security of the person in question and the integrity of the materials and the equipment used for taking the pictures.
Then, you need to adapt the technique used to the conditions in that environment.
You should always keep in mind that water is a natural filter, which has an immense influence upon the quality of the photos you take and therefore, you should act accordingly.
