How to Draw Stained Glass

    Abstract

    • 1). Set the white paper on a flat surface.

    • 2). Use a black marker, crayon, or colored pencil and draw swirls all over the paper. The swirls should cross over each other to make small enclosed shapes on the paper.

    • 3). Color in the enclosed shapes. Use any type of color scheme or color randomly. Use colored pencils, crayons, or marker.

    Image

    • 1). Use a pencil to sketch an image on to the white paper. Leave room on the edge for a black border.

    • 2). Break up the image with black lines. Put the lines around edges and where particular colors end. For example, outline a shirt in black. A black line separates the shirt from the arm and pants.

    • 3). Color a black border around the edge of the paper, any width.

    • 4). Color in the picture using crayons, markers, or colored pencils.

    Tracing

    • 1). Choose an image. Use an image from anywhere: photograph, magazine, coloring book, or any thing else. Put a piece of thin white paper over the image. It's best to do this in a well-lit area so you can better see the details.

    • 2). Use a pencil to trace the image onto the white paper.

    • 3). Remove the white paper. Set the image aside. Use a black marker, crayon, or colored pencil to trace the pencil lines. Make the black lines slightly thicker than the pencil lines.

    • 4). Color in the image on the white paper.
