How to Draw Palm Trees for Scenery

    • 1). Draw a long horizontal line, using your ruler as a straight edge. This line represents the ground for the palm tree.

    • 2). Draw a long vertical line extending from the ground. Use your ruler to keep this line straight.

    • 3). Draw an arching, curved line on the left side of the vertical line. Repeat with an identical curved line on the right side of the vertical line. This forms the trunk of the tree.

    • 4). At the tip of the vertical line, draw six fanning, crescent-shaped lines. Make two on the bottom, one on each side and two on top.

    • 5). Use the fanning lines as the center ribs for six large palm fronds. Draw the edges of each frond by making jagged lines to form a leaf shape that narrows at the vertical line and widens as it reaches outward.

    • 6). Draw three, evenly-spaced "V" shapes inside of the trunk to represent the bark of the palm tree.
