- 1). Measure the floor area of the room on all four sides. Measure any odd angles or nooks.
- 2). Draw on a piece of graph paper the dimensions of the room with each graph square equaling one foot.
- 3). Select the number of colors you plan to use, and pencil in a pattern on the graph paper with colored pencils. Each pencil color will be a different carpet tile.
- 4). Make a key at the bottom of your graph paper where each square of Design Zone carpet tile equals a certain colored pencil marking so you can remember what each square represents.
- 5). Purchase enough Design Zone carpet tiles in each color to replicate the pattern on your graph paper. Allow for any extra space that may not be exactly 12 inches or one foot. Plan to cut this tile before you glue it to the floor.
