Comments

All of the artists in the top 5 this week are North American.

This is an unusual occurrence on the UK charts. Nelly Furtado is Canadian, and the rest hail from the US. Scissor Sisters manage to cling to the top spot for a second week, but a bigger story is the top 5 debut for the new Killers single based only on downloads. "When You Were Young" will be the favorite to take the top spot next week.

Comments

Although Justin Timberlake's debut at #1 is great news for him, he is almost overshadowed this week by the Fratellis, the band at #2. This Scottish band played their first ever gig in March, 2005, and the following year and a half have been a whirlwind making them one of the hottest new bands of the moment in the UK. Living legend Lionel Richie returns barely inside the top 30, but he will look for a higher debut at home in the US later this week.
