How to Upgrade Altiris 6.9 SP4
- 1). Click on the "My Computer" and select the "C:" drive. Click on the "Program Files" folder and click the "Altiris" folder. Click the "eXpress" subfolder and click on the "Deployment Server" folder.
- 2). Locate the "express.exe" file. Right-click on the file and select the "Copy" option. Right-click on the file again and select the "Rename" option. Rename the file "express.lic" and press the "Enter" key.
- 3). Navigate to the Altiris site. Click on the downward arrow in the "Select a product to download" section. Select "Deployment Solution 6.9 SP4" from the dropdown list. Wait for the file to download. Download time varies depending on the speed of your Internet connection.
- 4). Double-click on the downloaded file and install the program.
- 5). Open "Boot Disc Creator" and select the "Tools" option. Select the "Install Pre-boot Operating Systems" option from the dropdown list. This installs the new automation.
- 6). Click on the "Control Panel" option and click on the "Altiris Deployment Server" option. Select the "Options" link and select the "Transport" link. Click on the "Automatically update clients" option.
- 7). Close and reopen Altiris 6.9 SP4. The program automatically updates itself. If the manual option is selected, paste the "express.lic" file in Step 1 into the "Deployment Server" folder.
