Hi, my name is Mariko. Today, I'm going to show you how to make fried pickles with pancake batter. Fried pickles are so absolutely delicious and I'm sure you probably have some pickles and some pancake mix in your pantry now. So, this is a really quick recipe that the whole family will love. To get started, you'll want two little bags or bowls. I like using these paper bags because it makes clean up a breeze. So, in each bag I'm going to put about a quarter cup of pancake mix. So, I have one bag of the pancake mix and then on the other bag, I'm going to add a little bit of fresh ground pepper, a little bit of salt and if you want a little extra spice like I love, I'm going to add a generous pinch of chili powder. Then, I'm going to take some pickles and today, I'm just using some dill slice pickles and I'm going to put them in the bag that has just the plan pancake mix. Now, I'm just going to shake this up. So, my pickles are covered in the pancake mix. Now, I have a small bowl and I'm just going to add an egg and beat it up. Now, I'm just going to make a little egg wash to dip the coated pickle slices in. Okay. Now that my egg is beaten together, I'm going to put my pickles in there, just give them a nice little coating in the egg. This is a great way to get perfect fried pickles every single time. Okay. Now, that they're coated in the egg, I'm going to put them in the bag that has the pancake mix, that has the salt, pepper and the chili spice. Now that my pickles slices are in the bag with the pancake mix, salt, pepper and chili, I'm just going to shake it up. Once everything is coated, it is ready to put in my deep fryer. Today, I'm using canola oil in my deep fryer because it's got a really mild taste, but it also heats really high temperature, thus giving it the perfect golden brown every single time. Now, I'm just going to drop my pickles in the hot oil for about three minutes or until golden brown. This is Mariko showing you how to make fried pickles with pancake mix. Enjoy!
