How to Find the Fox Constellation

- 1). Examine the star map for your latitude. Locate Cygnus on the map and then look at the end of the longest part of the constellation. At the very end of the constellation, you will find the Fox, a dim constellation. It may be difficult to pick out the three stars that make it up.
- 2). Look up into the night sky. Locate the North Star and then on to Cygnus. Follow the stars down the length of Cygnus. At the end of the stretch of stars, locate the three stars that compose the Fox.
- 3). Use your binoculars to examine the region of space containing the Fox. You will find the easiest to see planetary nebula, The Dumbbell Nebula.
