How to Configure a Linksys SPA-2002

    • 1). Find out what IP address the Sipura SPA-2002 automatically detected when it was hooked up to the computer by using the phone connected to the "Line 1" port on the SPA-2002. Dial four asterisks (****) in a row, followed by "110#." An electronic voice reads the IP address that has been detected. Write this number down exactly as it is read.

    • 2). Open a web browser on the computer that is connected to the Sipura SPA-2002 and enter the IP address that you got from the phone line. Press the "Enter" button on your keyboard and you are transferred to the Sipura SPA-2002's configuration page.

    • 3). Click the "Admin Login" button at the top right of the screen. Switch to the "Line 1" tab.

    • 4). Enter the proxy server address of the service provider for your Linksys Sipura SPA-2002 into the "Proxy" box under "Proxy and Registration." inPhonex, for instance, is "sip.inphonex.com."

    • 5). Fill in your name, User ID and password under "Subscriber Information." Enter your first and last name for "Display Name," as this is used for caller ID. The "User ID" and "Password" boxes should be filled in with the user ID and password that you created when you signed up with your service provider.

    • 6). Press the "Submit All Changes" button to complete the configuration. For most service providers, the default settings for the Linksys Sipura SPA-2002 are fine and the phone system should run smoothly.

    • 7). Repeat the configuration process on the "Line 2" tab if you are connecting more than one phone to the Sipura SPA-2002 settings. In most circumstances, the same information can be entered on both tabs, as the same settings apply to both phone lines.
