Cablecard Problems With Tivo

    Compatibility

    • One issue you may have with your cablecard is that it may not be compatible with your TiVo model. Refer to the support section of the TiVo website (see Resources) to check which cards are compatible with your device.

    Reinitialization

    • You may have to reinitialize your card. You can do this via the settings in the TiVo box, or you can have your cable company do it for you. If you go through your cable company, the technical support representative that you reach will run diagnostics to confirm this.

    Provider

    • The issues you're experiencing may not be related to your cablecard. Sometimes providers have broadcast errors of outages, and these difficulties can mimic cablecard issues. Check with your provider if other troubleshooting steps have failed with regard to the cablecard.
