Three Levels

This view of the three levels of the teeth of the puma, the zigzag fortifications demonstrate the stragetic planning of the fortress. The 22 sigsagging ramparts created a huge defensive position.
It's estimated that at one time about 5000 Quechua warriors garrisoned the fortress. Their clubs and other weapons were no match for the mounted and armed conquistadores.
