The Advantages of a Predictive dialer

Technology has made progress and the intelligent use of it has revolutionized the marketing industry. Most business is now conducted over the phone with excellent customer care and support. Call centers have definitely taken advantage of the technological advancements in the communication field. Call centers make calls in large volumes whether it is to support a campaign or provide customer care. Quick dialing is certainly an important feature in this industry and there are many different types of dialers available that can perform quick dialing; predictive dialers are the most prominent. In simple terms, predictive dialers are a call processing system with many different functions. A predictive dialer normally dials ahead and screens the calls that connect with answering machines or busy lines and transfers only those that have a live contact on the other end.  The basic goal is to increase the useful time per hour of each agent.  Every dialer is incorporated with a scripting tool, IVR, CTI.

There are three different types of predictive dialers: VoIP predictive dialers, Hosted predictive dialers and web based dialers. The dialer uses an algorithm to select calls. For capacity utilization it is the best choice available. The dialer comes with a capacity to manage time zones and call blending. It is also equipped with features like handling ‘do not call lists'.  The objective of a predictive dialer is to connect an agent with a new client as soon as a call is completed without wasting any time.

The VoIP predictive dialers have a range of tools for the automatic fax, SMS, e-mails and recycling of call files. With real time supervision and other functions for ultimate efficiency, it is a highly valued asset. It is also known as soft dialer. It is basically software which can make use of the VoIP service to call. The system does not need any equipment other than a broadband internet connection and a computer. As a matter of fact current technology has enabled the software based predictive dialers to work better than the hardware based dialers.  Apart from a computer, one may also need a telephony voice board or a voice modem.  There are many features in the voice board which are not found in a voice modem. It cannot detect call progress and call transfers.  The relentless pursuit for improvement in the telecom field has brought about advancements beneficial to the industry. The telephony board features are now found in the software which has cut down the costs and increased flexibility. The voice modem comes with another advantage; laptops can also be used as an autodialing system. Quality USB based voice modems can be found easily.

The three different types of predictive dialers are the soft, hard and intelligent dialers.

A soft dialer is a software powered by a computer. It has features like analysis of call progress and automatic call classification. A typical soft dialer uses SIP VoIP protocol.
Hardware based dialers are hard dialers equipped with a higher capacity to detect calls ending in answering machines. Automatic voice messaging and automatic dialing are special features associated with the intelligent dialer.
