How to Make a Kitty Out of Yarn

    • 1). Draw two matching circles any size you like on a piece of cardboard. Draw a 1-inch diameter circle in the center of the larger circles.

    • 2). Draw two more matching circles on cardboard, half the size of the original circles. Draw a 1-inch diameter circle in the center of each of these circles.

    • 3). Cut out all the circles. You will be left with four donut shapes. Place the matching sized cardboard circles together.

    • 4). Cut a long piece of yarn. Take your first two pieces of same size cardboard and wrap the yarn through the hole in the middle of the cardboard and around the outside. Don't pull the yarn too tight.

    • 5). Continue to wrap the yarn around the circle until the entire cardboard area is covered in yarn.

    • 6). Use the scissors to split the two cardboard donuts apart. Cut around the circumference of the circle between the two pieces of cardboard.

    • 7). Tie a piece of yarn around the center of the pom-pom, in between the two layers of cardboard. Tie this piece of yarn tightly with a double knot.

    • 8). Remove the cardboard circles to reveal your pom-pom. Your pom-pom will have two lengths of yarn coming from it. These will be used at a later stage to tie the pom-poms together.

    • 9). Wrap yarn around the second set of cardboard pieces and repeat the same process to create a second pom-pom.

    • 10

Tie the smaller pom-pom onto the larger pom-pom. This will form the body of the kitty. Trim off any pieces of yarn that are sticking out of the main body of the pom-pom.

    • 11

Cut a length of ribbon that matches the yarn of the pom-poms. This will become the tail of the kitty. Place a small amount of hot glue on one end of the ribbon. Press the glued end into the center of the bigger pom-pom. Hold in place for one to two minutes until the glue is set.

    • 12

Place a small amount of glue on the back of two googly eyes. Press these eyes onto the desired location on the smaller pom-pom. Hold in place for one to two minutes until the glue has set.

    • 13

Cut two small triangles out of matching colored card. Glue these in the desired location on the smaller pom-pom to look like ears. Hold in place for one to two minutes until the glue has set. Allow the kitty to dry for at least an hour before use.
