How to Repair an Electrical Conduit

    • 1). Shut off the power from the main circuit box to the fuse that powers the area where the conduit is located.

    • 2). Remove the cover plate of the electrical conduit with a screwdriver. Set the plate and the screws aside.

    • 3). Remove the inner screws (under the face plate) that hold the actual conduit in place with a screwdriver.

    • 4). Pull the conduit or socket forward, then untwist the wall wires from the wires running from the rear of the conduit.

    • 5). Connect the wall wires to the wires running from the replacement conduit.

    • 6). Push the conduit back into the wall and reattach the inner screws.

    • 7). Hold the cover plate back in place and screw in the screws.

    • 8). Flip the power breaker to that circuit back on and test it by plugging in something electric.
