How to Make a Greek Tunic for Child History

    • 1). Measure a girl's height then add 8 inches to get the right length for the piece of fabric. The width should be approximately that of her arm span. A boy's tunic does not need to be so long; measure from his head to his knees.

    • 2). Lay the fabric flat, then fold it in half lengthwise. Fold one end of the fabric down 8 inches, with the fold on the outside.

    • 3). Wrap the fabric around your child's body, under his arms, keeping the fold in place. Have the open seam down one side of his body.

    • 4). Pin the costume at both shoulders for girls and on the left shoulder only for boys, leaving the right shoulder uncovered. Use safety pins or gold brooches.

    • 5). Overlap the fabric on the open side and secure it in place with a leather or cord belt around the middle. Arrange the drapes of fabric to make sure all of her body is covered.
