The south includes the large city of Detroit, another fairly large metro area of Grand Rapids and the state capital of Lansing. The north is far less populated but a popular tourist destination because of its wildlife, lakes and beaches. Riverboat tours can be found throughout the state, so no matter where a person is located there is sure to be a riverboat tour within an hour or two.
