How to Draw a Katana in Paint
- 1). Use the "Curve" tool in Paint to make a straight line. Position the cross at a point slightly back from the end of the line you wish to be the point of the sword and slightly underneath the line. Click the mouse. Paint will make a slight curve in the line. You might have to experiment to get the proportions correct. Before clicking anywhere else, click on "Select."
- 2). Select the entire curved line you've just made. Click "Edit" then "Copy" and "Paste." Move the new curved line to one side of the original line. Click "Paste" again, and move the third curved line to the other side of the original line. This is the blade portion of the katana.
- 3). Use the "Line" Tool to make a line at a 45-degree angle at the tip of the blade. Use the "Eraser" to take away any lines with extend beyond the tip. If you feel confident, make this a curved line.
- 4). Use the "Line" tool to make a perpendicular line across the three lines at the other end. The perpendicular line should be three times the width of the original three lines. Make a shorter line on each side of that line. Connect the three lines with a curved line, both top and bottom. This is the guard on the sword.
- 5). Use the "Line" tool to make an straight extension of the blade lines for the handle. The katana's handle was between a quarter to a third of the entire sword. Make one line perpendicular to the blade lines at the upper end of the sword for the pommel.
- 6). Use the "Circle" tool to draw 10 small circles along the handle for decoration.
- 7). Use the "Fill" tool to color the upper and lower half of the blade. Make the lower half lighter than the upper half. Use the "Fill" tool to color the handle and the little circles inside the handle. You have just drawn a katana.
