- 1). Group plants together on top of pebble trays filled with water. Keep the level of water below the bottom of the pots to prevent roots from wicking the moisture up into the soil. As water evaporates, the humidity level increases in the air surrounding your plants.
- 2). Place a cool-mist vaporizer or humidifier near your plants to keep the air moist. These provide copious amounts of moisture without the risk of damaging plants that may result from steam vaporizers.
- 3). Mist your plants with cool water from a spray bottle several times a day. Although this is not typically as effective as other methods, it does increase the humidity.
- 4). Place plants in locations that are naturally high in humidity, such as the bathroom, laundry room or near the kitchen sink during the driest part of winter. This allows them to take advantage of natural moisture released in your home on a daily basis.
