How to Make a Tuxedo Bowtie for a Dog

    • 1). Cut two strips, 3 inches wide and 6 inches long, out of the black fabric. Hold the strips against your dog to determine if they are wide enough.

    • 2). Fold the strips in half. Lay them on a flat surface and overlap their ends by approximately a half inch. If you think the bow will be too big overlap the ends a bit more.

    • 3). Lift the ends and apply hot glue between the overlapped layers. While the glue is setting cut 3 inches of black ribbon and 2 inches of string.

    • 4). Wrap the string around the middle of the bow to gather it. Lay the collar flat and place the bow on top. Wrap the ribbon around the bow and the collar and trim any excess ribbon. Apply hot glue on one end of the ribbon and press it down so it overlaps the other end of the ribbon. Avoid gluing the bow to the collar itself.

    • 5). Put the collar on your dog after the glue has dried (in about 20 minutes) and adjust the bow's position by sliding it along the collar.
