How to Paint a Yellow Sky

    Instructions

    • 1). Wet the paper with your brush. Your aim is to make the paper glisten, but not become soggy and puddle.

    • 2). Dilute yellow paint into your palate. Starting from the horizon, cover the sky with horizontal strokes of yellow. The highest concentration of yellow should start along the horizon line.

    • 3). Overlap rose paint on top of the yellow. Apply it faintly, so that the yellow paint is more visible than the red. This should give the horizon a soft pink hue.

    • 4). Use overlapping strokes with a wet brush to help the paint flow. This will bring out the yellow and rose colors and create a graded wash from the horizon to the top of the sky.
