Designing a cheer uniform

• 1). Decide the style of uniform you want. Female uniforms can expose the limbs and stomach and male uniforms can have a variety of sleeve and pant lengths. Consider functionality and league or school rules when you create the style of your uniform.
  
  
• 2). Choose a fabric that will bend easily to flex with the gymnastic moves of a cheerleader.
  
  
• 3). Sketch as many uniform ideas as you can. Mix and match tops and bottoms for both the male and female cheerleaders until you come up with the designs that not only look the best but also are the most practical for cheering. Coordinate the female uniforms with the male uniforms so they match.
  
  
• 4). Add a name on the front of both the female and male uniforms. Use school initials or the name of the team mascot. Or, incorporate a logo that represents the team.
  
  
• 5). Add the team colors to your sketches. Determine what kind of color combination is best for your uniforms and how the colors should be represented on the uniforms. If you want to use something such as stripes, decide what width you want them and also where you want to place them on the uniforms.
