Rockwell Automation PLC Training

    Web-Based Training

    • Rockwell Automation's PLC Fundamentals course covers the principle functions and operations of programmable logic controllers. The course covers the parameters of PLC programming, how PLCs connect and control automation hardware and common issues faced when working with PLCs and PLC software.

    Instructor-Led Training

    • Rockwell Automation offers seven instructor-led PLC training classes. Five courses cover the RSLogix 5 software package that operates the processors PLC-5, and includes subject matter such as diagnostics, programming and communications between PLCs and hardware. One course instructs how to facilitate communication between small logic controllers (SLC) and PLCs, and one program involves transitioning from the ControlLogix drive and motion processing software to the PLC-5 automation-control platform. Instructor-led classes range from one to four and a half days of instruction.

    Computer-Based Training

    • There are two self-paced, computer-based, PLC training programs: RSTrainer for RSLinx Software and RSTrainer for RSLogix 5 Software. The training course for RSLogix 5 concerns the fundamentals of programming and writing code with RSLogix 5, and the RSLinx training course provides an entry-level overview of the platform's capabilities.
