How to Decorate a Cooking Goodie Bag

    • 1). Fill the goodie bag with pretty paper napkins to go along with the cooking theme rather than tissue paper. Unfold a napkin, grab the center with one hand and lightly pull the ends of the napkin to one side. Stuff a series of of these fluffed-up napkins in the top of the bag with the ends flaring out.

    • 2). Tie the handles of the bag shut with ribbon or kitchen twine. If you can find specialty kitchen twine in colors, choose one that coordinates with the bag.

    • 3). Attach a trinket related to the theme of your cooking goodie bag with more kitchen twine. For instance, a goodie bag filled with ingredients for a cookie recipe can be topped with cookie cutters or measuring spoons. Miniature kitchen tools, available at cooking supply stores, make adorable gift toppers. Look for items such as small whisks, rolling pins or spatulas. Another unexpected, but inexpensive decoration is a colorful dish scrubber.

    • 4). Personalize the goodie bags by adding a name tag for each recipient on a recipe card. Use a blank decorative recipe card or write the guest's name on the back of the recipe that goes with the goodie bag contents. Tape it onto the side of the bag.

    • 5). Make a final accent out of paper cupcake liners. Clip the ends of several liners all the way around their edges to make fringe. Stack the liners on top of each other using tape to adhere them together. Fluff the fringe and you have a thematic homemade bow. Tape it onto the corner of the name tag.
