How to Make a Fall Themed Tablecloth
- 1). Pour a small amount of fabric paint into a paper plate. Make sure it is a fairly thin coat, so the stamps will not get too saturated in paint, otherwise you will not be able to make out the shape of the stamp on the tablecloth easily. Pour colors into separate plates to ensure colors do not mix and end up looking muddy.
- 2). Spread the tablecloth out on top of newspaper or other safety covering to ensure paint does not end up on the floor or table where you are working. Keep the tablecloth spread out at all times to make sure the cloth doesn't fold over, causing the paint to smear.
- 3). Dip foam stamps and fall leaves into the paint color of your choice. Make sure only a small amount of paint is on the stamp or leaf, and that the paint is evenly distributed. Gently press the stamp onto the tablecloth to make a print, then lift the stamp directly upward to avoid smearing the print on the cloth. The leaves work the same way the stamps do, but you must be a bit more careful with the leaves as they will bend more, and make it much easier to smear their print.
- 4). Repeat step 3 in various colors, covering the tablecloth in stamp prints. Be sure to rinse off the stamp in between uses to make sure colors do not mix together. Continue until the tablecloth looks the way you want it to look.
- 5). Allow the tablecloth to fully dry. This could take up to 24 hours. Try not to move the tablecloth until it is fully dry. Once dry, you can place the tablecloth on your dining table, decorate it with fall-themed candles and place mats, and enjoy your meal!
