How to Install a World TV Dish
- 1). Find a suitable mounting area for your World TV dish. This area should be free of debris and provide a level surface that allows the World TV dish to stand at a level orientation. Also, check the sky above and make sure there are no obstructions that can impair satellite reception, such as trees and power lines.
- 2). Point the World TV dish to the southern area of the sky above. This is a simple, directional-based aim for now, and more precise adjustments will be made later.
- 3). Run the coaxial cable that comes out of the back of the World TV dish's mast down to your satellite receiver, which should be positioned beside your television inside your home. Connect this cable to the receiver via the port on its rear labeled "ANT IN."
- 4). Connect the satellite receiver to your television. This is accomplished via the use of the standard, included A/V cables, which are composed of two sets of prongs. Each set has one red, one yellow and one white prong, and they should be plugged into the color-corresponding red, white and yellow A/V ports both on the back of your TV and the back of the receiver.
- 5). Turn on both the receiver and the TV and wait for the receiver's menu to appear. Choose the "Signal Meter Screen" listing from the menu. This meter will guide you in making adjustments to the dish itself. Return to the World TV dish and have a friend stand by at the signal meter screen.
- 6). Loosen the nuts beside the elevation bolts on the back of the dish's mast with a wrench. Then, every 5-7 seconds make a slight adjustment to the elevation (up/down orientation) of the dish. Every few seconds, the meter screen will update your friend as to how close you are to correctly pointing the dish. The screen will illustrate which coordinates have been correctly "hit," and from here your friend can provide you with real-time feedback to guide your adjustments.
- 7). Loosen the LNB dish arm nuts, which are located just below the elevation bolts on the back of the World TV dish. Then make azimuth adjustments (left/right orientation adjustments) to the dish every 5-7 seconds, again waiting for reports. Continue your adjustments until the meter screen indicates that all coordinates have been hit.
