How Do I Get My Camera Pictures & AVI Video Onto the Same DVD to Play in a DVD Player?
- 1). Install the software on CD that comes with the camera onto the computer by placing the disk in the computer's media tray, closing the tray and clicking the prompt buttons on the screen to complete the installation. Restart the computer when finished.
- 2). Connect the camera to the computer with the data cable that came with the camera, using either a USB port or IEEE1394 (Firewire) port on the computer. The port on the camera is typically covered by a protective rubber flap that pops off with a fingernail. Turn on the camera.
- 3). Click the photos and videos for transfer to the computer when the display window appears on the computer screen. Select photos and videos either by placing a check mark in the box next to each thumbnail image or by clicking on the entire thumbnail image to highlight if there are no check boxes on the software for that camera model.
- 4). Click "Import," "Download Selected Images" or similar wording, depending on the software, to transfer digital copies of the photos and videos from the camera to the computer. The images and videos are stored in the "My Pictures" folder by default. Videos can also be moved to the "My Videos" folder once the transfer is complete by clicking each video and dragging it to a different folder with the mouse.
- 5). Open the computer's media tray to insert a blank, recordable DVD, then close the tray.
- 6). Double-click "Windows DVD Maker" to start the program, then click "File" and select "New."
- 7). Click the "Add Items" button to open a window on the left side of the screen with a listing of content folders. Click "Pictures" to open that folder and select images for the DVD by clicking the "Add" button in the lower right corner. Select multiple pictures at once by pressing and holding the "Ctrl" (control) key, then clicking each desired picture, then clicking the "Add" button.
- 8). Open the Videos folder to select AVI video files in the same way as choosing pictures, then click the "Add" button.
- 9). Arrange the videos and pictures in any sequence by clicking and holding the mouse button on an item to drag it to a different position on the list of items for burning to DVD, then click the "Next" button at the lower right.
