How to Wire a Prius for Towing

1). Open the trunk of the Prius and pull away the fabric trunk liner at the bottom of the trunk.
2). Remove the plastic battery cover on the passenger side of the trunk. This will give you more space to work as you connect the trailer wiring harness to the brake lights on your Prius.
3). Unplug the wiring harness attached to the rear taillights on the Prius and connect the trailer's wiring harness to the wiring harness leading to the car's taillights.
4). Run the wires from the trailer brake light harness along the inside of the car's body until you see them protrude from the underside of the Prius.
5). Connect the wires from the trailer wiring harness to the receiving harness on the Prius. Ensure that the wiring connections are secure. Then, reinstall the trunk lining on your Prius.
