DIY Battery Separators

    • 1). Power off your vehicle and access the main battery bank of the unit. This will usually be near the engine.

    • 2). Select an area near the main battery bank to mount the separator. Make sure it is out of direct engine heat.

    • 3). Mount the battery separator using the included mounting bolts and your power drill.

    • 4). Wrap the end of one length of electrical wire around the terminal marked "Main" on the battery separator.

    • 5). Wrap the end of the same wire around the (+) terminal on the main battery of the vehicle.

    • 6). Wrap the end of another length of electrical wire around the terminal marked "Auxiliary" on the battery separator.

    • 7). Wrap the opposite end of the wire around the "Positive" terminal of the auxiliary battery in your vehicle.

    • 8). Wrap the end of another length of electrical wire around the "Ground" terminal on the battery separator. Wrap the other end around the negative terminal on your vehicle chassis.

    • 9). Wrap another length of wire around the "Start" terminal on your vehicle's ignition switch. Wrap the other end around the "Start" terminal on the battery separator.
