Hotels in Milan For the Budget Traveler

The fashion capital of the world, Milan, is a shopper's paradise.
Closely associated with the most chic designer labels in the world, from Prada to Armani and Cartier, it is the favorite haunt of the rich and famous.
Because of its extravagant lifestyle, Milan is definitely not a very friendly place for the budget traveler.
A quick look at any hotel booking website will tell you that hotels in Milan charge some lofty rates.
So if you really want to make your shopping trip to Milan worthwhile, save your Euros for that Versace purse by finding some cheap accommodation.
Being such a busy business hub, finding cheap hotels in Milan is indeed a daunting task! But it's not impossible.
One has to remember to steer clear of Centro Storico as being close to the tourist attractions and the fashion streets, it houses only the most exclusive hotels.
Go even past Isola and Brera.
Though the hotels are relatively cheaper here, they will still be in the mid-range as this area is in close proximity to the fashionable art galleries and some designer boutiques.
For the best bargains head straight for Fiera Di Milano, as this district houses most of the less-expensive hotels in Milan, while still being close to the city center.
This area is very popular with business visitors as it is where the exhibition center is located - the place where all the trade fairs are held.
However attractions like the famous Duomo Cathedral and Santa Maria Delle Grazie (the church that's features Leonardo Da Vinci's mural, The Last Supper) are also not too far away.
For even more affordable options you would need to head farther away from the city center.
But don't let it bother you that the cheap hotels in Milan are not within arm's reach of the famous sights as the public transportation system in the city is very convenient to use and easy on the pocket.
It has a great network of buses, trams and metro trains that make getting to any corner of the city a breeze.
One last warning though before I sign off! Make sure you read up on the hotel reviews.
This can't be stressed enough as even photographs of the room put up on the internet can be misleading.
So the best way to know what to expect is hear what past visitors have had to say about the place.
So there you have it! You don't have to splurge on accommodation on your holiday; if you only look close enough you will find plenty of cheap hotels in Milan.
