Sixx Mann - New Orleans Hip Hop Artist On The Come Up! (Unsigned Hype)
Torrez Castle aka Sixx Mann was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana (the lower ninth-ward) considered to be one of the roughest neighborhoods. He had a love for sports but was infatuated with the street life. Growing up he listened to UGK, NWA, Eightball MJG and he never imagined becoming a recording artist, but always had a way with words. He had an opportunity to meet legendary SMK, one of hip-hop's greatest producers, who worked with artist such as Jodeci, 2pac, Luke, and Young Jeezy. SMK heard Sixx and told him that it would be good for him to pursue a career in music. SMK also inspired Sixx and gave him some tracks to write to and the rest is history. He took Sixx under his wing and introduced him to successful artist to collaborate with.
His first feature was with recording artist Webbie and from there his career took off in a positive direction. He was fortunate to be on a project with platinum selling artist Nelly and Too Short called Detroit G-code released by Warner Brothers. He also had a song off the soundtrack that was playing on the radio station in New Orleans which created a buzz for him. Soon after that hurricane Katrina hit his home town and he was confused on where to go from there. His city was destroyed and everyone had to evacuate from the damages of the storm. From that point Sixx decided to move to Atlanta and received a call from SMK who told him to come to Jacksonville for a distribution deal that didn't pan out; however, he had the opportunity to meet artist Young Cash and they became like bothers. After traveling to Jacksonville for a couple months, artist Young Cash introduced him to platinum-selling artist T-Pain.
He then built a relationship with T-Pain and got the opportunity to record with him in 2005. In 2008, he recorded a song called "Take a picture" which caught the eye of Legendary Tony Draper with Suave House records who offered him a single deal in which he accepted. He was released from suave house after a year, and then joined a group called Thug Mafia and currently working on debut project titled Young, Rich and Thuggn. He feels like he can achieve any and everything as long as he stays focused and keep God close to him.
