Prepared with either Death's Door Vodka or gin, fresh cucumber, cilantro and lime makes this drink 'green' in every sense of the word. The first gimlet descriptions date back to 1928 and shortly after the gimlets were popularized by renowned proposition gambler and storyteller "Hong Kong" Freddie Wong. As the gimlet was director Edward D. Wood, Jr.'s favorite cocktail, he often used the aliases "Telmig Akdov" (Vodka Gimlet spelled backwards) for his adult novels.
