Manali, is situated at the northern end of the Kullu Valley in Himachal Pradesh. It is a hill station of India which is at a height of 2050m in the Himalayas. The place is situated near the source of Beas River which makes it a popular tourist spot. Nehru Kund: It is a spring of clear and cold water. It is named after Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru. The place is about 6Kms from Manali.
Tibetan Temple: Earlier the Tibetans have their base in Manali. Tibetan temple is a large modern temple which is situated to the south of the bus stand.
Vashisth Mandir: The temple is famous for its hot-water springs. It is about 3Kms from Manali. It is believed that bathing or washing hands or face with the hot-water of the Kund of Vashisth Mandir cures all types of skin problems.
Other than these places there are several places and activities which you will surely like to visit. Some of these are Heli Skiing, Mountaineering, Malana Valley, Gulaba Camp, Solang Valley, Rohtang Pass and many more.
When and how to visit:
The best time to Visit Manaliand enjoy its natural beauty is May and October. In monsoons the risk of landslides increases to a great extent. One can also visit the place in winters.
You can reach the place by Air, Rail or Road transport. The nearest airport to Manali is in Bhuntar, which is about 50Kms form Manali. One can take the road transport to reach the destination. If we talk about trains, the nearest railhead is at Joginder Nagar which about 95Kms from Kullu. You can take the taxi from Kullu to Manali. If you are located in the nearby states you can take the road transport as well.
