New Budget Doesn"t Look Good For Motorists

The biggest news of the budget seemed to be that the predicted 3 pence increase in the price of petrol was still going to be introduced but to help motorists the increase will be staggered.
There will only be a 1 pence rise to petrol in April and the next rise will be implemented in October.
The difference in the prices of fuel will be added next January.
Although the government is staggering the increase in fuel duty, this news will not go down well with motorists as many of them feel that they area already paying an unfair amount of tax on their fuel.
Mr Darling announced that he wanted to make sure that Britain became a leading manufacturer and a world leading place in the world for the development of electric cars.
Electric cars may be the way to go, what with the rising petrol costs, there have also been new government schemes implemented for the sale of electric cars, it has been stated that the government could give up to £5000 towards the costs of a new electric car for businesses.
£ 100m has been allocated to help repair local roads after the harsh winter conditions that Britain has endured over 2009 and 2010.
It has also been stated that £285m will be invested in the UK motorways.
This is better news for motorists as the roads have become in a state of disrepair over the last few months, but it seems that it is little consolation with the looming petrol price rises.
Companies looking to lease company vehicles would be better served going for electric cars or very fuel efficient cars to reduce their expenditure on fuel.
